Good evening fellow Regan fans, as you know the president had so many moments in his time. The great communicator was a man that spoke truth in a way that not many have since the invention of television. The man had many great moments and frankly a top 20 countdown wouldn't be ridiculous. When delving into his body of work I found one thing that I had not expected. I am actually realizing how much more important to us he really was. He talked about the importance of a responsive government. Reminding us that we are the last best hope and that man can rule himself. Not really a new idea, it is the great experiment itself. So, without further pontification....

Obama sees his approval ratings drop after launching 2012 reelection bid.

High gas prices and continued anxiety about the economy have taken their toll on President Obama’s approval ratings, which have dropped consistently since the president announced he is running for a second term.

Since Obama announced on April 4 with a low-key email and video address to supporters, the president's numbers have gone down in every poll conducted during that period.

Pollsters attribute the president’s dropping poll numbers to the rise of gasoline prices, which historically have taken a toll on the popularity of the White House.

Last Friday, a Gallup survey showed the president's numbers at 41 percent, a tie for the lowest point in his administration. At the time Obama announced his reelection plans, the president clocked in at about 49 percent approval.

But I believe the reason for the drop is best illustrated by this video.

As most of you may know I am a huge fan of Ronald Regan. He was a man who said what he thought, and didn't hide behind any double-speak. He started his political career as a Democrat and finished as a Republican. He stood for many things, one of the main tenants being that a smaller more responsive government was the best path for America. But most of all I believe that he felt what he did would ultimatley make America a stronger nation. So I felt it would be best to, over the next few days, show you why I feel so strongly about the man that he was.

Have you ever tried to start a chant with a group of people that are barely even listening to you... It most likley ended thusly.

Alien found dead at crash site....

Incredible footage has emerged of what a group of Russians claim is the remains of a mangled alien. The lifeless ‘body” was supposedly discovered lying in snow in the Irkutsk region of southern Siberia following reports of a UFO crash last month.
The “extra-terrestrial” appears to have suffered horrific injuries — including the loss of one limb.
Shocked villagers had told of seeing a pink and blue glowing object hurtling towards the town before the alien was found. The bizarre reports were taken so seriously, they were investigated by the country’s Emergencies Ministry staff.
The mystery deepened when investigators said no aircraft were reported in the area. And search and rescue teams found no evidence of an aircraft crash.
The strange clip of the discovery has now been seen by nearly 1.5 million people in the two days since it was uploaded on April 17. And cynical YouTube viewers claim it is an elaborate fake.

Kickball, Tag & Capture the Flag Labeled ‘Risky’ Sports by NY State

YOU are not allowed to hurt yourself... unless you pay the 200 dollar filing fee.

New York bureaucrats have decided numerous classic kids games now pose a “significant risk of injury.” What games, you might ask? How about capture the flag, kickball, all forms of tag, and even Wiffle Ball.

I guess at some point you will have to sign a waiver just to walk in the park or on the beach. The more we try to engineer a perfect society the faster it will spiral out of control... I like dodgeball, and I know most kids do too... so what happens when it's too expensive to play any more?

The New York Daily News reports on how it happened:

The Health Department created a list of supposedly risky recreational activities – which also includes more perilous pursuits like archery, scuba and horseback riding – in response to a state law passed in 2009.
The law sought to close a loophole that legislators said allowed too many indoor camp programs to operate without oversight.
Under the new rules, any program that offers two or more organized recreational activities – with at least one of them on the risky list – is deemed a summer camp and subject to state regulation.
Ritchie said the regulations could cripple small recreational programs, forcing them to pay a $200 fee to register as a summer camp and provide medical staff
